THE Filmmakers

The Privilege was born from two Ohio natives, Javier Sanchez and Shaun Derik.

Javier has a passion for positively impacting the world, which has afforded him many opportunities such as working closely with the Youth to Youth International Leadership Program, being Awarded the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Developing Leaders in Reducing Substance Abuse Fellowship, and authoring the bestselling children's book, "Look in My Mirror". Shaun's dedication to impact is equally as strong, using the power of music to inspire and empower his audiences to achieve the deepest dreams of their hearts. "His style is fresh," "uncut," and "genre resistant," says Harlem Magazine.

In 2007, Shaun Derik teamed up with R.E.A.C.H. Communications, Inc. (www.reachspeakers.com) founder, Javier Sanchez to take his message to the masses. Together their messages have reached more than 500,000 people across the country and around the globe.

The R.E.A.C.H. Communications, Inc. team has over 20 years of combined experience in youth development, education, creative marketing and the performing arts. R.E.A.C.H. works with school systems, colleges & universities, faith-based, corporate and community organizations to develop and deliver highly attractive, relevant and responsible messages to youth and adults. All of their messaging tools effectively engage audiences from all walks of life. Through the use of Research-based Marketing Strategies, Live Presentations, Workshops & Trainings, Product development / distribution, and Campaign promotion, R.E.A.C.H. is able to convey a message in a way that is both entertaining, educational and will moves audiences from inspiration to action!

In 2011 Javier and Shaun were able to build an incredible relationship with Actor, Producer, and Filmmaker, Amber Mikesell. Amber is a strong advocate in the Ohio Film Community, establishing collaborative workgroups to unite and educate throughout the state such as the Mid Ohio Filmmakers Association (MOFA), the Columbus Actors Workgroup and assisting with the creation of a photography collective called CAPTURE. She served as the Associate City Producer for the 2010 Columbus 48 Hour Film Project, was a judge for the Vital Film Works/Columbus Metropolitan Library High School Scriptwriting Contest and worked with the Arnold Sports Classic to set the foundation for the first Annual Arnold Sports Film Festival. She is now bringing her wisdom, expertise, and passion for film making to The Privilege.
